Director of Fun Becca Schaefer does a terrific job for Bryson residents — and we’re not the only ones who believe that. Recently, she was named Lifestyle Director of the Year in the MAX Awards presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin.

The annual awards program brings together the best of the best within Austin’s competitive real estate market. To win top honors is quite an achievement, but for Becca, it’s one that is well deserved.

Not only does she host more than 150 events each year, she also manages facility rentals and vendors, works to obtain sponsorships for events and coordinates all the communications and social media outreach to residents.

But it’s her event coordination that residents most know her for, from monthly activities such as Eats on the Streets, Wine & Whiskey Wednesdays and Military Connection to the much-loved annual events like the Bryson Rodeo, Easter Eggstravaganza and Fourth of July Freedom Fest. Becca also has been adding multi-cultural events to the Bryson event calendar to celebrate Lunar New Year, Holi, Cinco de Mayo and Diwali. It’s no wonder that the lifestyle program that Becca has built was a finalist for Lifestyle Program of the Year!

Here in Bryson just over a year, Becca has already made a significant impact. She doubled the number of followers on the resident Instagram page, and Facebook followers increased by 18 percent. Usage of the community website and app has climbed every month since Becca started. Other accomplishments include installing a bulletin board by the pool to further communicate with residents and visitors, forming a social committee and simplifying the entire amenity rental process for residents with paperless forms and online payment options.

And if that’s not enough, Becca spends afternoons during the school year volunteering as a crossing guard for the new North Elementary.

While we are very excited to now describe Becca as “award-winning,” that’s not the only trophy Bryson took home during the MAX Awards. The Just Book It! campaign held last year to fill the library shelves at North Elementary won Best Special Event and the Resident For A Day Home Tour was named Best Promotion. Bryson was also a finalist in the Best Print Ad and Best Brochure categories.
