New North Elementary Navigators will soon be (literally!) checking out the results of our Just Book It! Fill the Library drive that netted more than $5,000 worth of new children’s books.
Knowing that Texas school library standards recommend stocking a minimum of 11,000 books in elementary school libraries (and how expensive that is), we decided to welcome North Elementary to Bryson with a book drive designed to build up the fledgling library.
North Librarian Erin Bartley created a curated wish list of books. People were able to order them online and have them shipped directly to the school. The list included classics such as the Magic Tree House and Amelia Bedelia series as well as I Can Read books, Texas Bluebonnet award winners, reference books and more.
It was a true community undertaking and a great way to show support for our teachers, staff and students. We just want to say thank you to everyone who donated. We can’t wait for the kids to start checking out the books.
North Elementary is the first Leander ISD school to be located in Bryson. That means our young residents can easily walk or ride their bikes to school. Visit us today to learn more about Bryson and our fabulous new school.
