There isn’t a week that goes by without something fun planned for Bryson residents. Food truck nights, Bingo, morning military meet-ups, happy hours, nature-based fun for kids — all are in regular rotation on Bryson’s monthly event calendar.
But Director of Fun Emily Dedmon really outdid herself in March, planning events that drew residents eager to connect and enjoy themselves. Yappy Hour was “pup-ular” with pets and their people, as everyone enjoyed treats and dogs got a chance to run an obstacle course. The best-dressed pups had on their Bryson bandanas.
St. Patrick’s Day was celebrated with the annual cornhole tournament (congrats to SEC!). In addition to single-elimination competition, eventgoers enjoyed green drinks and themed music. Young Bryson residents had fun at the crafts table.
Our biggest event of the year — so far! — was the Bryson Rodeo. The goats, chickens and bunnies delighted residents of all ages, and many of our young residents had the chance to ride a pony. Future cowboys and cowgirls practiced their roping skills, and many residents walked away with commemorative caricatures. Several adults even proved you’re never too old to ride a tractor-pulled train. Live music from The Alibies added to the fun, and many enjoyed a sweet funnel cake treat. Spicing up the day was our annual Chili Cook-Off, with Community Manager Marsha Hove taking the crown. Plenty of people wore cowboy hats and boots and everyone was wearing a smile by the end of the day.
There’s plenty more fun to be had in Bryson this year! To enjoy all the activities, you’ll have to make the move to our happy community. But visitors to Bryson this April will have a chance to experience what it’s like to live in Bryson — at least for one day. During the Resident for a Day Home Tour, people can pick up vouchers at each model home and then take it to our Director of Fun to receive an invitation to attend either the Bryson Eggstravagana on April 9, the Hot Nights, Cool Tunes event June 24 or the Star-Spangled Spectacular on July 2. We’ll see you in Bryson in April! (And maybe this time next year, you’ll be enjoying all of our events as a Bryson resident.)
