Engaging Events Add to Quality of Life

Beautiful homes, an amazing Hill Country landscape and inviting amenities — it sounds like a pretty nice community, right?

But what transforms a community into a hometown is a lifestyle that helps connect neighbors and give residents something fun to do without leaving the community. It’s that little extra — combined with the homes, landscape and amenities — that won Bryson the “Master-Planned Community of the Year” title three times within 12 months. And the person in charge of boosting the Bryson lifestyle is our Director of Fun, Emily Dedmon.

Emily is busy — really busy — but she always has time to say hello to residents stopping by her office at The Backyard. In fact, getting to know the residents is one way she’s able to develop an event calendar that intrigues everyone. A regular event that is popular for adults wanting a night out is the monthly Wine and Whiskey Wednesday. Retired and active military in the community can connect and reminisce during Military Connection, which also happens monthly. Eats on the Streets, which typically occurs several times a month, gives the home chef a night off and brings in a variety of food trucks. And our youngest residents enjoy being members of the Wild Explorers Club, which meets monthly to study an aspect of nature.

There’s something happening every week in Bryson, with several events typically planned each week. In addition to our recurring favorites, residents enjoy seasonal events — such as Bryson’s Summer Splash held earlier this month and the Star-Spangled Spectacular held on July 4. Emily planned 16 events in June and July is even busier with 18 events planned, including a concert, a Flick ‘N Float, Spray and Play, and more.

Watch our Facebook and Instagram pages to see photos of past events or come out to Bryson to enjoy the one event happening each month that is open to both residents and the public — the Savory Farmers Market. Bryson hosts the market 3-7 p.m. the fourth Friday of each month at The Backyard amenity center, 1960 Pleasant Hill Road. There is a rotating slate of vendors, but often appearing at the market are Savory Alaska, ATX Jerky, Mi Salsa Jar, Michelle's Patisserie, Papaya at Home, Cedar Elm Ranch Meats, Rose Burkhardt Jewelry, Naturally Mignon CBD & Skin Care and No Label Mushrooms & Microgreens. A food truck is typically on hand, as well!
