Bryson Makes It Fun to Get/Stay Fit

Oh, January.

It’s that time of year when people’s minds turn to fitness, going to gyms and logging mile after dreary mile on the treadmill in yet another effort to lose weight.

By the third week of January, that determination historically starts to wane.

But what if exercising didn’t quite feel like exercise?

Bryson residents have a head start in keeping “get fit” resolutions thanks to a trail system winding through the community and reminiscent of nature trails found at nearby state parks. Community nature trails run nearly 3 miles through Bryson, with residents receiving a nice gift right before Christmas of a half-mile trail extension partially along a wooded creekside green belt. About half of the nature trails in Bryson follow along Bryson Creek, and hikers can get a bird’s eye view of the community with a pitstop at Overlook Park. Residents using the trails are advised to sometimes slow their pace to see if they can spot deer along the way or see how many bird calls they might recognize.

Residents have more choices for cardio, however, with even more miles of sidewalks through the community. Biking, jogging, walking — it’s all easy in Bryson.

The journey through Bryson is so beautiful that you just might forget that your walk or jog is actually exercise!
